Want to rent a boat while visiting in the West Palm Beach area. Actually, we're staying on Singer Island. There's just 4 of us and we think we just want spend a day out on the intracoastal - not sure if we would even be allowed to take it out into the ocean. Any ideas?

Likely you won't be able to take it out in the ocean unless you're really experienced - and - the water is calm. Great idea to rent a boat for the intracoastal waterway though. Try the Riviera Beach marina which is the closest to you on Singer Island. You could probably take it over to Peanut Island which is between Singer Island and the marina at Riviera Beach. Also, you could head a bit north to have lunch at Waterway Cafe or Panana Hatties - just dock your boat there. Try to head out mid week if possible to avoid a busy waterway (& Peanut Island) on the weekends.
