May 14, 2014: The bad news: For seven consectutive months, Florida has had the highest foreclosure rate in the nation. The good news: When compared to one year ago, Palm Beach County foreclosure rates are down 54%.

May 5, 2014: Burt Reynold's Jupiter Farm Ranch has been approved for a resdential development. The plan calls for the building of 30 large new homes. The land is 153 acres, yet these new homes will only be built on 40 percent of the plot. It has been reported the remaining land will be used for both equestrian purposes as well as other related community functions.

In the 1990s, Reynold declared bankruptcy and the land was sold to the Palm Beach County School District for almost $4 million. Last April, the school distict sold the land to New Jersey-based developer K. Hovnanian Homes for 5$ million.

April 23, 2014: In February, the median sales price for a single family home in Palm Beach County was $272,000. This is a 16% increase from the same time in 2013 and a seven percent increase from January, just one month prior. While there has been an increase in home values, the volume of home sales only increased one percent.
